Some really fun Old Sugar Mill wedding portraits in and around the ruins in Clarksburg, CA.

Jessica and Darrel were married at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Sacramento and had their wedding reception at the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg. The Old Sugar Mill is one of the most amazing places for great wedding photos in the Sacramento Area. Marnie Stiles, who runs the events for the Carvalho Family Winery, was wonderful to work with and really made the wedding day run smoothly. A great venue, a wonderful couple and a beautiful day – what more could you ask for.

Jessica and Darrel's wedding ceremony was at the Church of the Holy Spirit in the Land Park neighborhood of Sacramento.

I just love these wedding photos as the bridal party stopped for a quick snack at the taco truck on Freeport Boulevard on the way to the Old Sugar Mill for their wedding reception.

Capitol Park Sacramento wedding photography and Harlow’s night club wedding reception

It has been a long time since I’ve updated my blog and I apologize for that. Now that the wedding season is pretty much behind me I am going to be regularly adding posts from weddings that I have shot over the past year or so.

This first one is from Angela and Chris’s wedding in Capitol Park and a reception at Harlow’s Night Club a couple of days later. The wedding was a small intimate event with just family and a few friends at the Rose Garden in Capitol Park.

Two days later they had an eighties prom themed wedding reception at Harlow’s Night Club on J Street in Sacramento. Angela and Chris wanted to take photos with their wedding party at some fun spots in Sacramento, so we spent about two hours cruising around town taking photos… Old Town Sacramento, R Street corridor, on K Street and various other locations – what fun that was. Everyone had a blast as the limo took us around to the locations and we jumped out and shot.

Tsakopoulos Library Galleria, Sacramento Wedding Photography – Rose & John

Rose and John were married in August of 2010 at the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria in Sacramento. The Tsakopoulos Library Galleria is a beautiful spot for a wedding and is smack in the heart of downtown Sacramento making it a convenient location for people having weddings with out of town guests.

Sutter Club wedding photography – Veronica & Dave

Veronica and Dave share a kiss right after their wedding ceremony at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sacramento.

Veronica and Dave were married at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sacramento in May of 2010. The bridal party rented the penthouse suite of the Citizen Hotel for everyone to get ready and they had their wedding reception at the Sutter Club.

The DeeJay for the wedding was Matt Brys (my favorite dj in NorCal) of Extreme Productions, flowers by none other than Jajuan Francis of Design with Florae and wedding coordination was done by the amazing Aimee Wendell of 2 Chic Events & Design.

Land Park and Old Town Sacramento engagement photography – Rosemary & John

We did Rosemary and John’s engagement session in Land Park and Old Town Sacramento in early March of 2010. We started in Land Park about two hours before sunset and wandered around the park looking for nice locations for engagement photos. After we felt like we had enough Rosemary and John did a quick wardrobe change and we were off to Old Town Sacramento for some more photos.

Old Town Sacramento offers a wide variety of scenery for engagement photos. Although I photograph quite a few engagement sessions in Old Town, it seems that I am always finding something new – which is one of the reasons I really like shooting there.

Rosemary and John were married in August 2010 at the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria in downtown Sacramento. Stop back soon for photos from the wedding.

After Land Park we had a quick change of clothes and then headed to Old Town Sacramento for some more engagement photos. These are along the boardwalk near the river.

Some of the old trains in Old Town Sacramento make for great backdrops for engagement photography.

Despite it being overcast and in early March (2010), there are some great opportunities for wonderful engagement photos in Land Park.

Land Park engagement photo shoot, Sacramento – Amanda & Troy

It was late winter/early spring and Amanda and Troy wanted a nice location for some engagement photos, so we decided to try out Sacramento’s Land Park. Although not too many trees are in bloom at the end of February, there were a few, and the park turned out to be a great location for some engagement photos.

Amanda and Troy got married in September of 2010 at Forest House Lodge in Foresthill, California – stop back later for some photos from the wedding – it was a lot of fun!

Tower Bridge Engagement Photo Shoot, Sacramento, CA – Ashley & Jeffrey

Ashely and Jeffrey chose to have their engagement photos taken on the Tower Bridge in Sacramento back in November of 2009. We shot for a while on the bridge and along the Sacramento riverfront promenade… Just past the Embassy Suites hotel on the promenade are a selection of historic Sacramento lamp posts – they made for some nice images.

After we were finished on the promenade we headed to one of Ashley and Jeffrey’s favorites bars in Sacramento – the L Wine Lounge on L and 18th Streets – for a glass of wine and a few more photos. Ashley and Jeffrey are got married at the Cass House in Cayucos, California in April of 2010.

The tower bridge in Sacramento is a nice location for an engagement photo session.

Citizen Hotel wedding photography – Sacramento – Kristin & Adrian

An overview of the wedding reception at the Citizen Hotel.

Kristin and Adrian got married at the Citizen Hotel in Sacramento in October, 2009.

The bridal party took over the entire penthouse floor of the Citizen Hotel for their wedding preparations. It was a beautiful fall day and the views were spectacular from the penthouse balconies.

The wedding was coordinated by Harmony Lines of the Citizen Hotel. She and her staff did a magnificent job.

Musical entertainment and lighting was done by Matt Brys of Extreme Productions Entertainment, who did an outstanding job – as usual – Matt is one of the best DJs I have worked with in the Sacramento area.

The flowers for the wedding were done by Twiggs Floral Design.

Vanessa and her father wait to walk down the aisle to the wedding ceremony in the penthouse suite of the Citizen Hotel in Sacramento.

Vanessa and Michael were married at the Citizen Hotel in Sacramento on July 8, 2009 (07/08/09). It was an small intimate family wedding with the ceremony held on one of the penthouse balconies of the hotel and the dinner held on another. Michael, Vanessa and members of their family had the entire penthouse of the hotel, so it was quite a special event. The officiant was a close friend of Vanessa’s making the entire event quite special.

The views from the penthouse are outstanding. The capitol dome to one side and the Darth Vader building to another while overlooking Cesar Chavez park and the City of Sacramento Town Hall.

It was a wonderful event that I really enjoyed with a wonder group of people!

Casa Gardens, Sacramento, wedding photography – Stef & Mike

Stefanie and Mike were married at the Casa Garden Restaurant and Meeting center in Sacramento on June 20, 2009. It was a beautiful day for a wedding and a fun venue. The Casa Garden is run by a volunteer staff and all of the proceeds from events at the Gardens benefit the Sacramento Children’s Home.
